Dr. Desiree DelMonte, ThD, LMFT, LAC, SAP, CSAT, CMAT, CSST

“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”  ----Norman Vincent Peale.

Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D., she conducted the first randomized, controlled 6-month clinical study of the effects of Nutrienergetics Systems (NES) on stress.  Interested in the energetic and transpersonal aspects of the person, her other coursework included therapies used to address siginficant emotional, mental, and spiritual counseling techniques to shift life’s bumps in the road.  Ordained as a minister with the International Science of Mind Church for Spiritual Healing, Dr. DelMonte sees a variety of clients for myriad issues, compassionately and prudently providing spiritual support.

Desiree is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), a Certified Systemic Sandplay Therapist (CSST), and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). Proficient in EMDR therapy, sandplay, art therapy, and regression therapy, with an interest in both alternative healthcare and mainstream psychotherapy, she continues to add to the tools and techniques in her repertoire in order to truly provide the best in counseling and psychotherapy.

Desiree is also certified as a Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT). This includes additional specialized training in Financial and Work-related disorders, Chemical and Alcohol dependancy, and eating disorders.

Working in the corporate environment for over 29 years, Desiree has attained a number of professional certificates which include Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL Foundations Certification, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Microst Certified Trainer (MCT).  As a retired U.S. Navy veteran, Desiree has extensive experience with people from diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds and has provided counseling and guidance to persons of all ages and religious backgrounds.

For most of us, change is not easy.  We live in the patterns we’ve created and find comfort in the familiar, no matter how difficult or dysfunctional.  Desiree decided to become a psychotherapist because she felt that she could help facilitate change in people’s lives, mixing both traditional therapy with complementary therapy to provide clients with the tools to grow.
